Isfahan children festival nominates 12 adapted screenplays

Isfahan’s Int’l Film Festival for Children and Youth announces nominees for best adapted screenplay.

The 30th edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth (IFFCY) in Isfahan has announced the nominations for the best adapted screenplay.

The information center of the festival recently said the jury of the adapted screenplay competition nominated 12 scripts.

The list includes scripts for movies such as ‘That Night When the Cricket Didn’t Sing’ by Mojtaba Espenaei, ‘The West Seventh Floor’ by Shirin Badrlou, ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ by Nasrin Khanjari, and ‘Daughter of the Pumpkin’ by Saeedeh Dalilian.

‘Existence’ by Nousha Abdollahzadeh, ‘Money’ by Akbar Koshtar and Ali Karvalian, ‘Mah TiTi’ by Reza Majlesi and Mohammad Azmoudeh, and ‘House of Grandpa’ by Fahimeh Mirza-Hossein are also on the nominations list.

The list goes on with ‘Association’ by Alireza Baboli, ‘The Old Bag’ by Mojgan Farahavar-Moghadam and Shiva Kazemi, ‘The Winner’ by Fereydoun Daneshmand, as well as ‘White Forehead’ by Seyyed-Javad Hashemi.

The jury of the adapted screenplay competition is comprised of Ebrahim Forouzesh, Siavash Golshiri, Marjan Ashrafizadeh, Masoud Keramati, Mahmoud Arbabi, Fereydoun Farhoudi and Farhad Tohidi.

The International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults is organized annually by the Farabi Cinema Foundation in affiliation with the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs.

The event celebrates films made for children and youth. It also supports emerging filmmakers with innovative cinematic visions and ideas as well as serves as a platform for professionals to come together and exchange ideas.

The 30th edition of IFFCY is slated for June 30 to July 6, 2017 in the Iranian city of Isfahan.
